Community Fundraising Meeting

Mark your calendars! Monday October 24th at 5:30 Habitat for Humanity of Burlington, Iowa will be having a Community Fundraising Meeting at Uncle Ronnie’s. There will be food and prizes for all of those who participate and are interested in serving on the Habitat for Humanity of Burlington, Iowa’s Fundraising Committee. We are looking for individuals, church groups, businesses and community organizations to help us raise money to build our first home in spring. Hope to see you there!

Shed Raffle

Purchase a chance to win this 8’x10’ shed donated by the Iowa State Penitentiary Restorative Justice Program
All raffle proceeds will go to building the first Habitat for Humanity home in Burlington
Raffle tickets are available at the following sponsor locations:
August 1-7th  US Bank – Roosevelt Avenue
August 8-14th Rheinschmidts Flooring – Roosevelt Avenue
August 15-21st Huffman’s – Agency
August 22-28th Hyvee – Agency
August 29th-September 5th – Burlington Bees Stadium

Drawing to be held at Bees Stadium during the September 5th game, need not be present to win.

April Update

We made it!  All of the application sections have been turned in to Habitat for Humanity International, and our consultant is currently working on reviewing the sections for approval.  We have also raised our initial $3,000 needed to show community support!  Thank you to all of you who donated towards this.

Our next big task is going to be to raise the money to build our first house this fall.  Our fundraising committee could use some extra members if any one is interested in volunteering please let us know at 319-753-8130.  We hope to hit the ground running and start building a home this fall!

$3,000 Goal

Habitat for Humanity of Burlington, Iowa must raise at least $3,000 from at least 15 different sources in order to show community support for the organization.  The current Board and Committee members hope to far surpass this $3,000 goal and put us well on our way to being able to fund our first project that we take on as an affiliate.  If you have any questions or would like to donate, please contact Amber VerKuilen at 319-753-8130.

Start Up Process

Habitat for Humanity of Burlington, Iowa is in the process of being formed.  The 12 member Board of Directors is working diligently to complete sections of the application, and to form committees to help support our local affiliate.  We are reaching out to volunteer and specialty groups and the general public to fill committee positions.  If you are interested in serving on one of our Committees please contact Amber @ 319-753-8130 or verkuilena@burlingtoniowa.org
