The Construction Committee provides organization to the whole construction process for Habitat homes. Comprised of individuals with architecture, building trades, permitting and licensing and land development expertise who can help prepare land for development and the construction of Habitat homes. This committee would work together on all aspects of land development, including recommending the type of construction that will occur, developing and implementing the construction plan, and overseeing and managing the construction process.
The Construction Committee will be responsible for:
- Planning all construction work
- Obtaining permits and inspections for homes
- Maintaining a construction file for each house
- Maintaining up to date home construction drawings
- Conducting on site safety meetings with volunteers
- Purchasing materials to support construction plans
- Leading teams of volunteers on site to build homes
Communicating:
- Sweat equity hours to the Family Support Committee
- Status of all home projects to the HFHBI Board
- To the Family Support Committee for selections of home items and colors
